Taco John and Rebecca

I've yet to see a Taco Bell, but this is at least the third time I've eaten at a Taco John's. This one in Mobridge is owned by Rebecca Peacock and her husband.
Rebecca just happened to be here when I stopped in for my first meal of the day, and since she's a bit of a cycllist (and biker) herself, she was immediately interested in my trip. Plus she's just so darn friendly. She dropped into the booth where I was eating and we began talking about the map I had out. She thought I'd get as far as Ipswich, and ultimately she was right. She even knew of a place to stay there, an old building that used to be a funeral home, but was now an inn. Rebecca actually knows South Dakota (and North Dakota) very well since she sells books to schools. And she knows schools well since she mentioned that used to be a high school teacher. So, of course, that got us talking about kids and education. Before I knew it I had been sitting there for close to an hour. Rebecca was very interested in the blog, too, so she's probably reading this. Rebecca- It was
great meeting you. You proved to me that South Dakotans are some of the nicest people around. Thanks for the company.
