Couldn't find a place to eat at these two towns, Sumatra and Vananda, although I did hold out hope against hope. In the final 76 miles these were two of the very few buildings I passed. I can't imagine traveling down a road this far without seeing signs of human activity. I know I actually did, but I still can't imagine it. The last few days I've been riding I've gotten into a rhythm, almost forgetting at times where I am and what I'm doing. I listen to my iPod constantly, and think about school and my past. At one point I felt transported back in time, as if I were riding my bike to Sara Paul's house for a summer slumber party in high school. Maybe it was the same sense of independence and freedom I felt then, and now.

But just like going to Sara Paul's house... you have to call mom when you get to where you are going to be. Some things will never change, like mom and dad's love for us.

One thing that's different...you don't have a bunch of people to have philosophical coversations with at the end of the night! You're doing great...keep up the good work.
