Night21 Continued

So that's where I stayed. This diamond in the rough. I sat in the lobby and had a long talk with the owner about brush fires (he fights them), prairie dogs (his guests sometimes come to Watauga to shoot them), and the differences between New York and South Dakota.
I told him how I was warned not to stay in McLaughlin, and he agreed. He said the leaders of the Sioux tribes out here mismanage their funds, and even though they have casinos that make good money, they still have many tribe members in poverty.
Did some bike maintenence, and got a good night's rest, ready to face the wind again another day.
