Catskills, beautiful. Catskill,...

It felt stranger than expected to roll down to the end of my toad and turn right. Almost exclusively my rides begin heading north, but today's destination was Catskill, and therefore south. This wasn't arbitrary.

This trip will be wrought with roads that display similar qualities to Route 23 between Cairo and Catskill. The shoulder widens and narrows; the traffic is steady, and the condition ranges from newly paved to never paved (Well, maybe once in the sixties.).

All things considered the ride went very well. The bike continues to hold up well. Only one minor zip-tie repair to my safety flag before heading out, and a bit of a sticky front derailleur when downshifting. As for the engine: no aches, no shortness of breath, no mental breakdown on the return trip into a constant wind. (I hate wind.)

Tomorrow is looking like an equally pleasant day, so maybe a trip up the mountain to Windham...

Note: I am currently back home typing this message through my iPhone with the assist of my Apple wireless keyboard, and am strongly considering taking it along.

Musical Note: I listen to my ipod constantly while I ride. For those concerned: yes, I can easily hear approaching traffic. Anywho, I thought I might make note of my listening choices from time to time, for the purpopses of posterity.

iPad Test, and Day One

I just wrote a long description of the day, but am too frustrated to recreate it. Suffice it to say that I rode a modest 15 miles, and the bike and I held up well.

It was supposed to be 87 degrees and stormy, but neither proved true. So, uneventful training Day One. But only Day One.
