This is the screen I see all day:

The app, Cyclometer, works very well.
Maybe in the future I'll be able to put values in at the beginning of the ride, like Start Elevation: 10,000 feet, End Elevation: 0. And then the iPhone will actually create the terrain for me to ride.
More desolate NC boonies. In fact, even more desolate than yesterday.

It wasn't until I reached Greenville that I saw any real signs of civilization.

I've banged my shins on my pedals a few times this trip. This morning I smacked my ankle. Really hard. I ride on it all day with little trouble, but off the bike it aches to walk. I've iced it twice in the motel room, and I'm curious to see how it feels in the morning.

I'm boring myself with this blog the last couple of days. It's not necessarily a bad thing that nothing exciting has been happening, but it makes me feel like this is some boring job. Weird job, riding your bike to Florida, but boring.
Starting tomorrow I'm heading for the coast. At that point I'll try to follow it for the remainder of the trip. I know it will be thickspread with strip malls, car dealers, and fast food. But hidden in there must be some southern treasures. Maybe I'll even find time to get to the beach. In my bike shorts?
